PROFILE Believing in the philosophy that the greenest building is one that already exists, I have dedicated much of my career to the preservation and rehabilitation of existing buildings. I have a strong conceptual and technical knowledge of acceptable design practices, as well as an understanding and sensitivity for the complex design issues surrounding historic structures. Notable project experience includes the award-winning adaptation of the National Register DeMartini Winery for Clayton's City Hall and the rehabilitation of the circa 1860's Endeavor Hall into a multi-use assembly facility. I have also spent many years assisting with the preservation of Greene and Greene Architect's remarkable William R. Thorsen House in Berkeley. In addition, my architectural practice encompasses a wide variety of project types including custom residential, commercial and institutional design. I have background in all phases of project development including programming, master planning, schematic design, design development, building code review, construction documents, consultant coordination, bidding, and construction administration. My clients are central to the design process and each brings unique goals and challenges. I enjoy working with clients to shape their projects by creating new, exciting and beautiful spaces to meet their needs. |
